Life in a Fabric-Covered Box

Dave and I loved how this week Dilbert referred to the work cubicle as a "fabric-covered box"! :) The company I work for moved into a new office building this week. With that, new furniture. I officially have my very own fabric-covered box!

Here's my little piece of happiness in my box. Just need some more and those drab fabric walls won't be so miserable. And I'm sure Ms. Charity will be able to take care of that for me!

Flying By

Worked sooo much last week, well over 50 hours. Hoping this week isn't as intense. Love the paycheck, but it doesn't leave much free time.

Today I started my new schedule: 7:30am-4pm. I'm really looking forward to getting out earlier. Monday's are usually pretty crazy, today wasn't too bad, but before I even looked at the clock I had already worked 10 hours! Wow! I thought it was going to be a 12 hours day, but ending up only being 11 1/2 hours. Wish that first day that I could barely make it through 7 hours went by that fast! Guess things do get better with time!!

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

It's here. . .

Be sure to get out and enjoy the first day of Spring! It's going to beautiful here in Music City. I'm off to work now, but hoping to be out when the sun's still out . . . hopefully. I've already worked almost 40 hours this week. Busy! Guess the overtime check will be good for the pocketbook! Maybe it's time for a new Spring wardrobe, a bag, flip flops, oh the possibilities with a new season!! Enjoy it however you see fit!!

Now For Purple

Charity had her first arm check-up today. Thankfully everything is looking good and we're scheduled to have the pins out and the cast off on April 1st. Charity is so happy. I think I'm going to have to make countdown for her. She keeps asking how many days.

She also had her cast re-wrapped to cover the split made for swelling. She decided on purple (with hints of the pink cast showing through.) Just like her mom . . . changing her mind!! :) Didn't get a too good picture today, had to rush off to be at work. But here's her new "arm".

Shopping Fun

Charity and I went out today and picked her up the 50th Anniversary Barbie at Toys R Us, for the 50th Anniversary price: $3.00. Can't go wrong there! Go get yours, too. A lot of retailers are carrying it at this great deal. Our Toys R Us even had a little party for Barbie, with a birthday hat to be decorated and a coloring sheet. Fun!

Then we headed to Micheal's where they had a family brownie decorating activity. Didn't know about that. But Charity decorated a brownie and enjoyed a nutritious lunch! :P

We ran around and did a bunch of errands. Also, she spent her $20 Wal*Mart gift card Grumpy and Meme sent her for her broken arm. She loved that. More presents, more love! She chose a Fur Real little grey bunny, some girly rings, and a pack of gum. And she's still got $o.63 left over!

Now off to get ready for our St. Patty's Day celebration tomorrow afternoon.

Good Night!

He Just Knows

Thank you, Jesus! I am just thanking Him for working all things out.

Today at work things just "blew" up, way busy, way lots of work. Needless to say I didn't get to take my lunch and left a few hours late, 8:30pm! Late! I didn't mind the overtime at all. And though I was sad that I missed some of the special Youth Praise Gathering at church this evening, I could not stop thanking God that this isn't how last Friday ended when I had to rush to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital to be with my baby and her broken arm. Things wrapped up so easily last Friday and I was on my way. I could have left if I really had to tonight, but it just worked out. And He just knows!! Praise God!!

Maybe This Isn't So Bad

Today was Charity's first day back to school . . .

And, boy, did it turn out to be a good day!!

She came home with a bouquet of goodies from Mrs. Rhodes, her teacher (that she was already sampling when I got home from work!) and a lot more signatures on her cast.

I don't think she's going to be able to eat that all herself . . . ;p Mommy may have to help her!

Yummy and so cute!!

And her classmates made her cards!

And if that wasn't enough, she received a box of Mrs. Fields treats in the mail from Aunt Lois and her cousin, Maria. Oh yeah, nothing heals broken bones like sugar!!

Under Construction

. . . it way past time to go to bed. Glad my work day starts at 10am tomorrow, well today. Started editing the blog and it's taken too much time (as usual) and now the header's all messed up and I'm too tired to fix it. So please excuse the mess, while we're updated. :o)

and Happy Friday!

WaCkY WeDnEsDaY!!

I completely forgot today was WaCkY until last night at about 11:30 pm! Ooops!!

Utterly exhausted I threw this crazy, little number together in hopes Charity would be okay with it. I guess last year's was a little too WaCkY and a classmate teased her, so I was worried Charity wouldn't go for it. But she loved it!! Yay! It was actually her hair that got her teased last year. I did like 15 pig tails all with different ribbons. So this year we opted for "normal" hair and she was happy . . . and WaCky!

Made It Through Monday

I've been working soooo intently, since I've been working, to really eat right and knock off these silly 10 lbs. especially before our May vacation. Munching on carrot stix, only bringing my little 100 calorie packs, yogurt, cottage cheese, all the nasty stuff I can barely stand.

Well, I kind of blew it today when the company treated us to lunch from O'Charley's. I had an absolutely scrumptious California Chicken Salad, which was about 13 points. Ooops! Probably the buttered roll was another 13 points. Oh dear . . . luckily Dave made a nice, light Thai Soup for dinner!!

Thai Vegetable Noodle Soup

~ 1 carton (32 oz.) College Inn Thai Coconut Curry Culinary Broth
~ 1 cup chopped onion
~ 1 cup broccoli florets
~ 1/2 cup diced carrots
~ 2 tsp. grated fresh ginger
~ 1/2 tsp. curry powder
~ 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
~ 1 Tbl. vegetable oil
~ 1/2 cup thin spaghetti 2" pieces
~ 1 Cup light coconut milk
~ Cilantro
~ Lime juice

Cook onion, broccoli, carrots, ginger, curry and red pepper flakes in oil in large saucepan, 3 minutes. Add noodles, broth and lime juice. Bring to boil, reduce heat. Simmer 7 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir in coconut milk. Heat through. Garnish with cilantro and lime juice.

Monday's not my favorite day, but I sure was well fed today!! :p And that made it a whole lot better!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Suess!

All this week Charity's Kindergarten class will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday with a variety of activities. I like how Google remembered this famous author today. Very cool!!

Just a Little Bit

Didn't quite get as much as Charity would have liked. But a bit. Just enough to stomp around in. So we got up and ready for Sunday School early so we could run around for a stomp.

Mom, there's hardly any snow! Whaaaaaa!

It's OK, Charity, just a litte bit is fun too!

When we came home from Sunday School, Charity was so happy to find this still on the back deck. So out she went.

Now, she's saving it in the freezer so she always has some snow!

I'm thinking about sending this little Snow-Lover to her Nana and Grandpa's in Maine, where they currently have 4 feet of snow, for Spring Break. Most people head for the sun. This girl just can't get enough of this freezing, cold, white stuff. Is she my child? :P

Today in Sunday School . . .

Who said you can't put marshmallows in your lemonade? When we asked him what he was doing, he said it was hot toe-toe!! Cute! 3 year-olds are way more creative than we give them credit for!!
