Morning Mercies

I do it every morning. After shutting off my alarm and getting out of bed, I head immediately downstairs. I reach in the same cabinet every morning and grab the exact same travel mug. I have to have my coffee and like to enjoy it the greater part of the morning as I head to work. But I've only got one travel mug with a lid. Every night my sweet husband makes sure he washes my one mug so it's ready to go in the morning.

Made me think about God's mercy. Fresh and new and clean every morning. Ready for us upon waking up to each new day. It's amazing. I can't fathom that there's enough for everyone after my daily allowance, but that's how great my God is!

Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)
22. Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
23. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
24. “ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “ Therefore I hope in Him!”

Pink Bobs!

So I had a few Bobs left over from the big party. I had promised the gals at work each one since they helped. And then I figured I'd pass some on to my team leads since they were so kind in allowing us to work on them in our down time. It never hurts to be on their good side, especially when you're a temporary employee.

Then I remembered (how could I forget?!?!) Lauren's obsession with pink . . . and I knew there was no way I could give her a yellow Bob . . . it must be pink! So Charity and I gathered the supplies and got to crafting. Well, Charity lost interest and went to bed and I stayed up and finished them.

So hers was waiting for her when she woke up, because she had to have a pink on too!

Lauren's pink obsession . . . don't think I ever got to this post done (April 30th) . . . we plastered her cubicle with pink post-its on her birthday. She loved it and saved every one of the post-its to reuse. She's green, too!! :p Of course, even before we put those post-its up, everything in her area is pink to begin with: stapler, tape dispenser, coffee mug, pens, markers, etc . . . so there was no way I could put a yellow SpongeBob over there. He just wouldn't match!!

The Happy Bobs . . . I even glued Velcro on their back so they stick to our "walls".

In perfect peace and harmony!

We had way too much fun playing with them at work today!

Where's Bob?

I'm getting a little frustrated. Supposedly Spongebob is celebrating his 10th birthday this week. Well, why can't I find the Spongebob paraphernalia I'm looking for? As soon as I got home from work, Charity and I ran out and started our hunt. Found a few things, but not done yet. You know the story, if I wasn't looking for it, it would be everywhere!! Murphy!!

2 days left!!

Mini Bobs

Finally found some yellow sponges for our crafty-project presents for Charity's party-goers. Of course, there was only one package (in all of Nashville! Uuuuugggg!), so they'll be a little smaller than originally intended. But that's okay. Still lots to do, but at least cleaning the house for the sole purpose of it being completely trashed isn't one of them. Yay for off-site parties!! 3 days to go!!

Bob it Will Be

Try as I might, but there was no changing Charity's mind from wanting a Spongebob Squarepants themed 6th birthday. I like the little yellow sponge guy, but was not really my favorite idea. Just kind of ordinary, but I guess not for most 6 year-old girls. And since it really doesn't matter in the whole scheme of things, Spongebob Squarepants it is. Her party is less than a week away, so we really need to get busy getting stuff done. Today we ordered the cake at Publix. So check! Yay!

Charity's New T

Today was 1/2 [price] day at Goodwill. Among a bunch of other fabulous deals, I got Charity this pink t-shirt. I asked her to read it.

Charity: "I la-l-o-o-v-e sh-o-p-p-ing. I love shopping."

Me: "Right! Isn't it awesome?

Charity: "Well, I don't like shopping, but it's a cute shirt."

I love her!! :)

Wanna-derful Evening *Pictures*

The Wannabeatles

A Icee at sunset.

We.

Wanna-derful Evening

I love the concert series our local park does. Not always the greatest music. But makes a really fun night. We pack a picnic dinner and we're off for an enjoyable evening of open-air music.

Tonight it was the WannaBeatles. It was, surprisingly for me, a pretty good concert. Charity started getting a little bored toward the end, as it was over 2 hours. But the presence of the icee vendor made her happy. Gramma came along too. The weather was absolutely perfect. We all sang along and "danced". Such a lovely evening . . .
Ahhhhhh . . . summer! What's not to love?!?!

Bedside Note

It's been awhile since Charity and I have been in the pool. Life's been busy, I guess. So I wouldn't have any excuse to skip out tonight, I left Charity a note for her to find upon waking up. I knew there would be no getting out of it this way!! :)

First Church Fourth Celebration

Today's the day our church celebrates the 4th of July. A special patriotic message and music, an indoor picnic with live music and fun and games for the kiddos. It's always a nice day at First Church. So it ended up being a great day for Maine friends to visit.

A Comfy Seat

In all my 30 years of watching fireworks, this year was by far my favorite!! Think we might make this a tradition. You can't really beat catching both Macy's and Washington D.C.'s all in one night and we had great seats!!

Red, White and Blueberry

After all yesterday's hard work, today's going to be a nice relaxing day, spending time with Dave and Charity and doing a whole lot of nothing. Well, some America celebrating but that's about it.

We started the day with the parade in Pegram (a small town not to far from here) this morning. They have a nice parade and Charity always comes home with tons of candy. The only sad part this year: I didn't get my dose of homemade kettle corn. They hadn't finished popping it yet! :( Oh well, next year!

Patiently waiting for the parade:

Right on track:

Watching the parade go by:

A nice float was handing out waters to the kids. It came just in time for Charity, who had just announced to us her thirst.

Our company is scheduled to get here later this evening. If they arrive early enough we may all head down to the fireworks. But they may not arrive in time. For now, I'm going to bake a cheesecake with a fresh blueberry topping for all of us to enjoy whenever they arrive. :)

Good Bye, Gov. Palin

Robert DeBerry/The Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, via Associated Press

I don't really care what the media says, I still think she's amazing. And it is with sadness I watch her leave the political scene, she's fought though over the last year. I pray this change brings much peace and rest to her and her family.

Summer Camp and Record Bowls

Charity's enjoying her days at summer camp. Today the older students put on a carnival for the younger ones.

She came home with pink hair and a purple flower on her face. She loved it!

I came home with a nifty bowl one of my co-workers made. She discovered you could create a bowl out of a record by simply heating it in the oven. I'm not sure all the specifics, but she found it in a book. Thought it was pretty cool! Thank you, Sarah!!
