Snow Day!!

I told my sister I live in "Paradise" and I really think I do. Today we received the most beautiful snow fall I've ever seen since living here in Tennessee. Of course, as I prayed for a good size layer of the fluffy, white stuff, my northern friends were rebuking me. They have seen more than their share this year and they've still got a few more months until Spring. I tried to explain to them that you always want what you don't have . . . but they just weren't getting it. So far this winter we've had just a few flakes here and there, just enough to wet the appetite. Finally, on Saturday we got a "serious" snow, 2 1/2 inches!! Fun, fun!! Charity had us up before 7:00 AM excited about the winter wonderland she could see from her bedroom window. After adding our multiple layers of clothing, we headed out for sledding, (We used a nice, big piece of cardboard we found in the garage as a "sled". It worked quite well I might add!) snowball fights, and we even built a BIG snowman . . . well, the biggest one I've ever been able to build with Tennessee snow. Hardly a little over an hour later, as we were warming up inside with some hot cocoa, Mr. Snowman was doing a little warming up too. The sun got a little too hot on him, he couldn't take the heat, so flat on his face he fell. I'm sure by tomorrow at this time, there will be nothing left of Mr. Snowman except his stick arms, carrot nose and the other miscellaneous objects we added to him.

Oh well, that's what makes this place so great. The snow doesn't last for an eternity as it does in New England. There really aren't too many extremes in the weather, except for the heat of August. And unlike Mr. Snowman, I love it, I can take the heat!! Welcome to Paradise, Tennessee!!
