Tonight we had Gramma's "postponed" party. As we sat there enjoying our dinner of Spaghetti Pie proceeded by brownies and ice cream for dessert, as Gramma had requested, we couldn't help but be thankful for all the years God has blessed Gramma with. It's been over 10 year that she was first diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma (mantel cell lymphoma) that manifests itself within the lymphoid, which contain the white blood cells that fight off such diseases. I believe when her cancer came back the 2nd time around 2002, triggering our decision to "make" Charity, they were thinking the worst, possibly only a year or two that her body could withstand this battle. And Charity just celebrated her 5th!! Yay!
She's still doing chemo and has been so blessed by the opportunities for advanced medicine here in Nashville. However we know God hand's upon her and He's held this awful cancer back for yet another year. For that, we couldn't be more grateful!!
