Dave is taking his last few vacation days today and tomorrow. So we finished cleaning this morning and then went out to market to load the cupboards and fridge. Back in time to put it all away, get Charity from school and head back to school . . .
We also had our first parent/teacher meeting with Mrs. Rhodes. I was so happy Charity is up to par and doing well. That was a big relief. Dave was questioning why I was worried . . . obviously he didn't attend my first ever parent/teacher meeting with Charity's preschool teacher last January when she informed me of the digression Charity was making at school and her observation that she was not ready for Kindergarten. Oh dear . . . so glad we're past that. I don't care if she's the smartest and the best, just typical is good! But I couldn't have left happier and am so thankful for Mrs. Rhodes and Nashville Christian School!!
Grumpy and Meme arrived just as Charity and I were finishing our last batch of Oatmeal Scotchies. Yummm!! The perfect weary-traveler snack, if I do say so myself and I think Grumpy enjoyed them. Warm and chewy, they hit the spot as Dave prepared Cheese Soup on this brisk fall evening . . . a brisk fall evening in Tennessee: 92 degrees! Well, we enjoyed our soup anyway! We enjoyed a nice family walk around the neighborhood. And since we didn't get enough to eat (Ha! Only kidding!) . . . Grumpy was wanting to try one of Sonic's Jr. Banana Split. Love that in New
England . . . not sure why they run the commercials way up there where Sonics doesn't exist. But on second thought I guess they're doing the trick . . . since it was Grumpy's 2nd destination in Nashville! Oh yum! I am definitely addicted! They are the perfect size and only $0.99! Strawberries, banana, pineapple, chocolate sauce and topped with a cherry! Good, good, good!! Go try one . . . you'll be hooked, too!You can see what we'll be doing a lot of this weekend . . . Cooks love to eat! Guess it will be back on the diet bright and early Monday morning. But for now . . . sweet, happy, full, fatty dreams!!
