Summer Wedding

Is there anything more beautiful than a summer wedding, I mean, really? I know I'm sappy like that. But I LOOOOOOVE them! And I could not have been more blessed and honored to attend this lovely union. This girl deserves the absolutely gorgeous, perfect day it turned out to be!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. D. Stavely!
Perfect weather, charming venue, whimsical details, scrumptious meal, fabulous friends, stunning bride . . . an extra special wedding day!

Sleepover Fun!

Charity had her friend, Clata, over last night. Their class is doing the "Flat Stanley " thing over Spring Break, so it made it for double the fun!
The original plan was to go bowling, but it was such a beautiful evening (and without ANY resistance) we convinced the girls to go to park, where we stayed until dark . . . and then, of course, onto Sweet Cece's.

All went well and I think both girls really enjoyed themselves. I actually thought they even got some sleep . . . until Charity voluntarily decided on a 3-hour nap this afternoon. Guess that's party of a sleepover, too!

Success!

Women & the Word today . . . they matched! The mugs matched and I was so worried. All was fine! And even the ladies and the baby match!

A beautiful day, scrumptious food, and awesome time being encouraged by the Word and fellowship of Sisters in the Lord!!

Santa Makes Me Smile

A friend gave this little guy to me as hostess gift. She said is was "just for fun". I decided he belonged in our master bath since it lacks any signs that it's even Christmas.

Now every time I'm in there, I smile. I don't know, he's just cute and brings cheer to an otherwise boring room. Thanks, Mysty!

Heaven is Blessed Today

. . . in it's new angel. But we here on earth will mourn a great loss.

This life is so full of questions. Why Violet left us so early is the one that is perplexing my mind this evening. She was an amazing lady. She has a family, loving husband, young daughter and a son. I first met Violet helping out with weddings at First Church and learned so much from her. She was so extremely talented. She battled cancer for a few years now. Her fight ended today. I'm sure she's celebrating her win tonight around the throne!

Violet, you will be so missed. Your faith in God and courage through this was remarkable. You lit up the room with your positive attitude. I am blessed to have known you, learned from you and called you a friend even if for a short time.

Please remember the Bockhouse family in your prayers.

First Church Fourth Celebration

Today's the day our church celebrates the 4th of July. A special patriotic message and music, an indoor picnic with live music and fun and games for the kiddos. It's always a nice day at First Church. So it ended up being a great day for Maine friends to visit.

Broadway Girls

He we are. Us SSA girls at TPAC. It was a great show with fun music. We all want the soundtrack!!

"Handy" Mandy and Me

The Ginger Girls: Sara and Megan

4 girls of the SSA Department *minus Melissa, who wasn't able to attend.
And, FYI, I'm NOT pregnant in this picture, just a photo trick with Mandy's dress, a mean trick! :) There seemed to be a little confusion on another website concerning this. So figured I set it straight here!!

A Night on Broadway

I'm so excited . . . heading to Legally Blonde "The Musical" at TPAC with 3 of the girls from work. Should be fun! The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner . . . like I need that, but yummy! Especially with a pizza party tomorrow at work. It's been a bad week for eating good. Starting back next Monday . . . uuuuugggg!

Keeping My Eye on the Goal

It's never easy to go back to work after having vacation. But this week is a short week for me, only 3 days. Next week with the Memorial Day holiday, it's a 4 day week. So it isn't until June that I'm back to working 5 days in a row. Uuuuugggg!! Don't know that I'll be able to handle it!! :)

So while at work to help me get through the week, I've been keeping my eyes on my special NYC book that Shira made me. Not only is chalk full of information, it's keeping me excited about this weekend. I can't look at it without smiling. Ohhhhh, I can't wait!!

Happy 30th Shira!

Shira was my absolutely bestest friend during my early high school years. When she moved away, I was soooo upset. We stayed in touch for awhile. Then over the years life took us different directions. But now, thanks to Myspace and facebook, we've been able to reconnect. She is an amazing person and the years we haven't been in contact, I felt like I've definitely missed out. This year we both celebrated our 30th birthdays. Shira made me aware that we've now know each other half our lives! I'm so happy after all the years we were able to pick up were we left off. And I'm looking forward to the day when we "meet" again . . . I'm thinking for our 31st's!!

Memory Monday

Monday's are never the highlight of my week, but this one might be different.

A friend of my birth mom *who found me on Facebook ~ that's why I love it!!* sent me a whole bunch of pictures and some other memorabilia she had pertaining to my mother. It was so nicely put together with notes explaining everything. And though it generated some sad memories, I couldn't help but be happy that she had done all this for me. How kind! I will definitely treasure the gift. How blessed my mom must have been to have such a great friend, and I as well, that the same friend would "find" me after all these years.

Thank you, Laurie, for taking the time to do something so special and meaningful for me. I truly appreciate it and though it's been years since we last met, I'm happy to call you my friend, too!

A Spring Saturday

Another Saturday birthday party for a school friend. And the weather was just perfect for this outdoor party. But from the pictures, can you even tell this was a boy party? I don't think I let one male slip in a picture! Those girls sure stuck together!

Charity the Builder (doing her SpongeBob face!)

Blowing Bubbles

Going for a ride on the wagon . . .
. . . and on the swing . . .

. . . and on the 4-wheeler! That scared Mommy to death, since it's only been 3 days since the cast came off! Luckily it didn't move too fast. Charity had a blast on it. I don't think we'll stop hearing about that one for a few days!

Happy Birthday, Mysty!

It's been a long week. I've already worked 32 hours, in just 3 days. Too tired to be blogging, but it's another special birthday, soooooo:

Baby Silkies

If you're looking for the perfect baby gift, look no further. I'm happy to introduce you to the Baby's Silkie.

Naomi, the creator of these snuggly blankies, and I attended high school together. When we recently reconnected and I discovered she had this business, I knew this was where I was headed for my next shower gift!! And I'm glad I did.

When I found out my little sister, Katie, was pregnant, I couldn't wait to order her one. There are sooooo many options for colors and fabrics. Ordering even's fun! I optioned for Jungle Animals. Too cute!! And then the monogramming!! You've got to love that. Anything monogrammed makes it even more special. I know Raistlin will love his!!
Thank you, Naomi, for the perfect gift!! Now, everyone else go get all the little babies you know one: www.babyssilkie.com!

Renewal: Night 3

Our annual Friendship night, the highlight of our Women's Week, is always really enjoyable. Tonight was no exception and I would say we had a record number of ladies. Wow! We were running getting plates, forks, anything to feed the multitude. Doris & Henry (our yearly comic entertainment) showed up and the ladies donned their Italian costumes. I'm lucky I made it there dressed and in my right mind after a very busy day at work!! Glad I made me food yesterday. It was a great time. Here's the pics:
