We had a full day yesterday, but I guess that's what the 4th's about. However we did get a nap in the afternoon. Can't beat that!
We started out at the parade in Pegram, our favorite little 4th "hometown" celebrating spot. A little rain in the morning made for a very hot and sticky afternoon. But didn't stop us from cheering along with all the patriotic floats and collecting lots of candy. This small town puts on a really great fest. And alot of the floats not only hurl candy at the onlookers, but if you're not careful you can easily get drenched at this parade. Many floats are armed with water fighters just looking for people to soak! Wet, but fun!! A good way to cool off, too!
While I was headed after my long-awaited kettle corn popcorn, Charity and Dave were able to catch a few swings on the playground. I love that popcorn. Last year I bought two bags and ate them both. I refrained this year and only purchased one. Soooooo yummy!! Sweet, but salty = divine!!

Headed home after the parade where Dave grilled up some Boca burgers and turkey dogs for our 4th feast. After a nap and relaxing afternoon, we headed to Centennial Park to watch the Downtown fireworks. Tip for next year: you can't see them there, well, not very good anyway. So we headed down Charlotte a little ways where you could. Oh well. We've seen lots of fireworks before and Char's not a big fan, so home we headed.
Charity waiting for the fireworks:

Had a lots of fun . . . and so happy we have 2 more days of our Patriotic weekend to celebrate!!
