Hallelujah! Thankfully, we had a relaxing Friday evening and were able to sleep in this morning, so it was nice to get the sleep bank built up for the weekend. Well, Charity got lots of sleep, I stayed up late and baked my Chocolate Beet Cake for Beet Fest and worked on my other beet projects for this first fest.
At noon we headed to NCS for Fall Funival. I volunteered to work the Kindergarten booth for an hour, so Charity can have some school privilege, wear any choice of shoes or free ice cream, I can't remember which?!? While I worked, Gramma, Charity and Dave checked out all the activities.
She got her nails done:

And went on the hayride with our Barlar friends:

And fished in my pond:

Here's myself and another Kindergarten mom tending our "pond". The hardest part was keeping the "pond" together. Let's just say it wasn't too well built. It kept collapsing into 4 separate walls!! Very nice! I'm not complaining though, because I'm not volunteering to build a better one!!

At last, I broke free from the pond and we got some kettle corn (yum! really wanted lunch, but the line was just way toooo long!)

Then we did the hay ride as a family. It was such a beautiful day!!

This is my favorite part of Funival!! Don't you just love this big guy!?!? All week, I've had so much fun with Charity, every time we drive by on the way to or from school, I pretend to be scared of it! I guess she'll miss this game, or maybe it was getting old anyway!?!

Back home, Charity enjoys a cookie that she won doing the cake walk (that I had to drag her to do? What's up with that? Guess she was getting tired towards the end.) and why didn't I think to buy those store-bought cookies rather than all that pain-staking baking? Uuggg! Live and learn!!
