If you haven't tried Romano's Macaroni Grill's Dessert Ravioli and you're a dessert conosoire like myself, actually a sugar addict, you need to make a trip to the closest Macaroni Grill, fast! Like, right now! I usually order a small meal or salad at this eatery just to save room for this delectable dessert. I love it!!! It's amazing: Crumbled peanuts, caramel and chocolate in golden-fried pastries. Served with vanilla ice cream and caramel. There's basically a Snickers bar in the little pastry pillow! Can you believe how amazing these are? Yummmmm!
But it was with much sadness that this dessert is brought to my attention today. My Hungry Girl daily email. And you know she's not writing a good review about, because she is trying to help us all eat healthy, but did she really have to bring the cold, hard facts or should I say warm, oohey, gooey, sugary, sweet facts to life? What a depressing email! She compares courses at restaurants nationwide. Here's what she had to say of my beloved ravioli:
The Loser (in the dessert category) - Dessert Ravioli at Romano's Macaroni Grill
PER SERVING (1 order): 1,630 calories, 74g fat, 1,150mg sodium, 223g carbs, 3g fiber, 19g
protein -- POINTS® value 38*
Really, Romano, you have a problem. This is an intervention. You've basically made a Snickers bar wrapped in fried pastry dough, topped it with ice cream and drizzled it with caramel. This dessert is surely delicious, however it should probably be illegal. Seriously. KNOCK IT OFF.
Alright, I concur. It's kinda' bad for you. And it's more than one day's point allotment. Truly, right now it's the last thing I need. Let's just say unemployment hasn't been good for my waste line. And we won't be going to Macaroni Grill any time soon on our budget. So I'll probably just daydream of those warm puffs of chocolate and caramel . . . that's harmless isn't it?

YOu have a wonderful blog! I read all the way to the beggining of Oct. I have a ways to go! Your little Charity is so pretty and you are too! I can't wait until I have some more time to read the rest. BTW, I had to stop and say a prayer for you and your mom. She sure is a tropper! Good for you all! Lots of love!
